Skyview High School believes in placing students with disabilities with the least restrictive environment.  This includes mainstreaming them with the general population and provicing them with modifications and accommodations to optimize their success.   Our teachers accept responsibility for all students in their classroom and modify, accommodate, and adjust teaching techniques and classroom activities to meet the unique learning abilities of all children. The special education coordinator  support the regular classroom teacher with this process.

There are not two distinctly different types of students, "special" and "regular". All students are individuals with their own unique set of physical, intellectual, and psychological characteristics influencing their instructional needs. Individualized instructional programs are designed to meet all student needs. At Skyview, the special education coordinator reviews, updates, and maintains each special education student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) encouraging students to be included in all aspects of their educational process. The entire school becomes a support system for each and every student in order to complete their educational experience.
