School is back in session as of January 4th.  Please keep in mind that on January 16th and January 30th there will be no school.  Also, make sure to put on your calendars February 2nd for our Open House at 6pm.

We are finishing up another block and starting a new year.  We want to remind our students and parents that finals are the week of December 12th.  Make sure that you are ready.  Also our Winter Break will be from December 16th through January 2nd.  We will be starting block 3 on January 4th. During winter break our hours will be will be Monday through Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm.  Please be aware that on December 26th we will be closed in observance of Christmas and January 2nd we will be closed in observance of New Year.

This last week was Spirit Week at Skyview High School.  Monday was "Spirit Day".  Students dressed up in school colors along with teachers and staff.  Tuesday was "Random Day".  Students and teachers came dressed with crazy hair, mismatched socks and various other interesting ways.  Wednesday was "Character Day".  Students and teachers came dressed like characters from comics, movies, and television shows.  Thursday was "Music Day".  Students and teachers wore their favorite band/concert t-shirts or dressed like their favorite musician.  It was a great week!

As we get to the holiday seasons we want to remind you that for the month of November we will not be holding school on November 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day and November 24th and 25th in observance of Thanksgiving.

ATTENTION PARENTS AND STUDENTS – Due to an emergency the Site Council Meeting has been rescheduled to November 17, 2011 at 6pm. Please come and join us to help with the future of Skyview High School. Our school improvement plan will be discussed there. We will also be handing out student progress reports.

Skyview High School will be participating in the MADD For Fashion show that will be held on November 20, 2011 at 2pm to 4pm at the Tucson Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Road, Tucson AZ. Skyview High School has been asked to provide some of the models as well as some of the dresses for the fashion show. We have also been asked to design and create the center pieces that will be on display at the tables for special guests of honor.

Skyview High School is proud to announce that four of its CTE fashion students were recognized for their excellent work at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competition. The competition was held in Glendale, AZ, April 26- 27, and had students from across the state competing in culinary arts, auto mechanics and fashion.The four students that won awards were Korie T., Summer Q., Fernanda B. and Alondra R. This was the first year that these four students participated in the competition.
