Jazmine Ritchie won gold at the Arizona FCCLA competition and will now be representing Arizona and Skyview at the National FCCLA competition in Florida with Mrs. Nelson-Green

Caitlin Powers just recently won the grand prize for Legislative District 8 Art Contest. She along with a parent will be flying out to Washington D.C. where her piece of art will be on display for the next year in the Cannon Tunnel at the Capital Building.

Finally, our Video Production class, with the guidance of Ms. Melrose, won the grand prize in the "End Bullying PSA Contest". Skyview will now have anti-bullying public service announcements being broadcasted on Cox.

Congratulations to all of our students and the efforts!

The Pima County Public Library held an art competition at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library. Two out of our five students who submitted work won top honors.

The following students submitted work and have their art work on display at Joel D. Valdez Main Library:

Yajaira Bojorquez ("Lucy" painting)
Maricela Townsend (Self portrait)
Trinity Williams (Pastel portrait)
Kharis Serveux (Self Portrait)
Andres Flemons ("Denial" Painting)

Congratulations to Kharis Serveux who was awarded Best of Drawing and Andres Flemons who was awarded Best of Painting. They will receive their rewards on March 24, 2012 from 2-3pm.

During winter break our hours will be will be Monday through Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm.  Please be aware that on December 26th we will be closed in observance of Christmas and January 2nd we will be closed in observance of New Year. ]]><![CDATA[Spirit Week]]>Mon, 14 Nov 2011 08:18:48 -0800http://www.skyviewtucson.com/1/post/2011/11/spirit-week.htmlThis last week was Spirit Week at Skyview High School.  Monday was "Spirit Day".  Students dressed up in school colors along with teachers and staff.  Tuesday was "Random Day".  Students and teachers came dressed with crazy hair, mismatched socks and various other interesting ways.  Wednesday was "Character Day".  Students and teachers came dressed like characters from comics, movies, and television shows.  Thursday was "Music Day".  Students and teachers wore their favorite band/concert t-shirts or dressed like their favorite musician.  It was a great week!
