Just recently Skyview has acquired several awards. Jazmine Ritchie won gold at the Arizona FCCLA competition and will now be representing Arizona and Skyview at the National FCCLA competition in Florida with Mrs. Nelson-Green

Caitlin Powers just recently won the grand prize for Legislative District 8 Art Contest. She along with a parent will be flying out to Washington D.C. where her piece of art will be on display for the next year in the Cannon Tunnel at the Capital Building.

Finally, our Video Production class, with the guidance of Ms. Melrose, won the grand prize in the "End Bullying PSA Contest". Skyview will now have anti-bullying public service announcements being broadcasted on Cox.

The Pima County Public Library held an art competition at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library. Two out of our five students who submitted work won top honors.

The following students submitted work and have their art work on display at Joel D. Valdez Main Library:

Maricela Townsend (Self portrait)
Trinity Williams (Pastel portrait)
Kharis Serveux (Self Portrait)
Andres Flemons ("Denial" Painting)

Congratulations to Kharis Serveux who was awarded Best of Drawing and Andres Flemons who was awarded Best of Painting. They will receive their rewards on March 24, 2012 from 2-3pm.

Skyview High School is proud to announce that four of its CTE fashion students were recognized for their excellent work at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competition. The competition was held in Glendale, AZ, April 26- 27, and had students from across the state competing in culinary arts, auto mechanics and fashion.The four students that won awards were Korie T., Summer Q., Fernanda B. and Alondra R. This was the first year that these four students participated in the competition.
